We have a superfast college ethernet system; what's the best method of transfer for large files? E-mail has low file size restrictions, and MSN Messenger (which everyone uses) has really crap file transfer built into the Mac version (ie slow and unreliable). Are these the only options (apart from other IM clients)?

both of those methods seem rather inefficient. ftp is probably a good option if you have a server you can upload your data to or get it from. Are you trying to transfer homework you are doing on a computer in a computer lab to your home computer? Are you trying to get mp3's from your friends?
