Ok, I have an AEBS connected to a cable modem (3Mbps, WAN port) and am running into some problems. My ISP uses DHCP addressing. Connecting my PB to the airport via wireless works flawlessly, as does connecting the same machine directly to the LAN port on the AEBS. However, when I connect a 5-port Linksys hub to the LAN port on the Airport and then connect the PB to a port on the hub I can only get about 10Kbps to my ISP with sporadic connectability. Using another router the hub works fine, and I have tried switching cables, etc. Anyone experience anything similair to this?

A hub is a "dumb" device; it doesn't do any processing of the data that flows through it. What's happening is both your base station and PowerBook are requesting an address from the cable modem, and the cable modem is getting confused about what hardware it's supposed to communicate with.

What's the purpose of the hub in your setup? It's most likely that you can replace it with a gateway router (AKA cable/DSL router) for less than $50, and get much better performance, even without the confusion. You'd put the router between the cable modem and the base station, and turn off the "share a single IP address" option in the base station's configuration (Network tab of the Admin Utility).

Thanks for the reply.
To clarify, my setup is the following:
Cable Modem <----> AEBS <----> Ethernet Hub
The hub is in place so that I can connect a few boxen that do not have a wifi nic to the net through my cable modem.
I had previously used a Linksys cable/dsl router in place of the AEBS and had no problem. I am hoping to ditch my linksys router in favor of the AEBS if possible. I was under the impression that the AEBS would assign a DHCP address to all my lan side clients (regardless of whether they were connecting via the wireless or lan port interface side of the connection, and would not pass along raw traffic to the cable modem. If the problem was as you described, would I not encounter the same issue if I attached a client directly to the LAN port rather than through the hub? When I connect a client straight to the LAN port, the AEBS assigns me an address and everything is cool. When I connect a hub to the LAN port on the AEBS, and then a client to the hub, I get assigned an address by the AEBS in the same range, but the connection is incredibly slow with intermittent sustainability.
