Hi, whoever can help me,
I have the best printer on earth: the Epson Stylus 2200.
It is maid by the worst company on earth: Epson.
Those people have an incompetent customer service, that knows nothing about their products.
to make a long story short:
I decided, recently, to ad wireless printing to my wireless network, at home.
I have 2 printers: a laserJet 1220 and the Epson.
I plugged both of them on a wireless router thru parallel ports.
On OS 10.3, I have no problem printing on both. I can access the router, print color, BW form any software, it works perfectly thru the ppd files pre-installed by apple.
The problem comes with Classic mode/ OS 9.
I work a lot on QuarkXPress 4.1 (version 6 is not used by a lot of people for the moment, so i stay on version 4), and would like, of course, to print my beautiful creations on this great printer that is the Stylus 2200.
I can communicate to the printers, but do not have the right driver for the 2200 (the HP works great)
Of course, Epson seems to be the only company to sell its printer without a PPD file.
this #$@@##*@^ PPD file is impossible to find on the net, Epson had a great sofware, Stylus Rip pro, that they decided to discontinue for reasons they would not give me - i am not sure they even know.
So for the moment, epson does NOT support this printer. They are working on an update of the software, but have no release date.
I tried everything - but i am out of solutions.
Does anybody have any solution - that is printing wirelessly on an Epson 2200 thru Classic mode.
I was thinking that maybe there is a way to use the Epson USB driver (the only one sold with the printer) and have it communicate to OSX to access the router ....
Thanx in advance
