If your 814's wireless is activated (I don't know offhand if you can turn it on and off), you should see your AirPort icon identify the network. It should show you the SSID you set (or the default if you didn't change it) in the 814.

Have you configured your AE card yet? It should be a piece of cake, but it may just not work without you going through the Setup Assistant first.

Anyone else got any clues?

The extreme card doesn't seem to pick up the Netgear, even though the wireless signal is switched on!

If i havent configured my card, how do i go about doing this??

Very frutrating, thought it would just pick up my router straight away, nothing is as simple as it seems [for me anyhues!!]

What did you do to make it work? My wife's new iBook came with an AirPort Extreme card installed, so it wasn't any problem; she turned it on and the computer saw our wireless network. My thought was that, if the computer didn't see wireless network when it first (brand new) turned on, that maybe it needed some help in looking for one.
