just got my ibook & airport extreme... thought i could get it working...everything seems to be working...my ibook finds the base station but i cant get on the net using safari??? maybe my isp doesnt support airport?? any help would be great. thanks.

Your ISP doesn't matter at all. However, how your base station and AirPort card are set up DOES matter.

You say your computer finds the base station. Are you using automatic addresses (also known as DHCP)? If you manually assigned your computer's address, that's probably the problem; you also need to tell it a DNS server and Gateway address. If you "obtain an IP address automatically," your computer should get all that stuff along with its DHCP address.

well i got it working this afternoon. last night before i went to bed i unplugged the modem & airport...i believe it didn't work the first time because i already had the modem plugged in and then i just plugged the ethernet into the airport...if that makes any sense.?? thanks for the tips....i need to go read up more on this stuff
