What would cause this printing problem to occur?

I have a G4 iMac connected to a Epson 740 USB printer. I can print anything on the iMac with no problem.

The iMac shares a cable modem with my son's eMac (with an Airport card) via an Asante "Friendly Net" wireless router and USB printer sharing enabled on both computers. If I try to print a document on the eMac to the USB printer, it will print multiple (infinite) copies of the the document, instead of just one. The printer window says "... will retry in 10 seconds) and I have to stop the printer and delete dozens of copies of the same job in the printer window to stop it from printing.

If I hook the printer up to the eMac and print from the iMac, everything works perfectly. What could I be doing wrong?
It's not getting what you want, it's wanting what you've got.
