I have a Belkin Wireless router but I have a question about how the Virtual Servers (port forwarding) is suppose to work. I can't seem to see if my settings are working on my internal network (I keep getting errors about the ports I've opened not being opened even after rebooting the router - these ports are open if I do my lan ip), and since I don't have a machine on the internet outside of my router, I can't check if the forwarding only happens outside of the routers internal network. Does anyone know if this is the case?

Could anyone try the following:

http://24.15.253.162/~fahrenba/FMess...Messenger.html

If you get an applet with a login window that pops up, then everything is fine (you won't be able to login, but that's because I didn't give you an account or anything). If you get an error message that's on top of a pinkish background or just a text field with no info, then the port forwarding mechanism isn't working like it should.

Thanks,
Matt Fahrenbacher

I got this 404 . The nature of that error, which includes your host name, suggests I was able to get through your router to your Apache server, but the file was missing.

Nevermind, I fixed it and moved the file to a slightly different place (got rid of the tilde and username) .

Thanks anyway,
Matt Fahrenbacher
