Hi All,
I've got a epson 836xl scanner connected to a Mac G4 via a SCSI card and am wondering if this scanner could be shared by other computers connected to the same network? The scanner is a big 14x17 flatbet with focal plane adjustment and takes a lot of real estate so buying a second scanner is not a option.
My answer was going to be, "I am guessing the answer is no. As far as I know you can't share a scanner without special software and the only scanner manufacturer that I know of that provides such software for their scanners is UMax.".
Probably the answer is yes.
You can share your devices with Image Capture -- digital cameras, etc. I haven't tried to share scanners, but I don't see a reason why it shouldn't work, if properly supported by Image Capture.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
