is it possible to network two macs over broadband using VPN?

And if it is how do i do it? Do i need to go through a third party?
Can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial?

The computers are less than a mile apart and are both on BT Broadband and running the same OS (OSX 10.3.3).

What you haven't defined is exactly what you're hoping to accomplish.... WHY do you want a VPN?

I ask because I so often get requests for "this", when it's so much easier and better if you just do "that" instead.
