I am currently shopping for a new 802.11b/g Wi-Fi PC Card for my Ti PowerBook G4 because my original AirPort card has degraded to a point where my maximum range of reception is about 10 feet from the nearest base station. It's just ridiculous how ineffective my AirPort has become.

So I wanted to find out if I plug a new WiFi card into the PC slot, will the AirPort card interfere?

If you have a PC card slot then you can use a PC card. I can't remember if your PowerBook has one or not. The next step is to find one that has drivers for your version of Mac OS X. Then the next step I would do is remove your airport card. It's going to take power from your battery and you don't need it if you find a PC card with drivers. Then I would install the drivers for the PC card and then install the PC card and see if your range increases.

If you can't find a PC card with drivers then you can always get a new airport card. A lot of the Mac retailers online still sell the older 802.11b airport cards. I think maybe Apple still sells them on it's Apple Store Online as well.

Edit: I just did a quick google search and found this link for drivers for wireless PC cards by manufacture.

Why don't you get your Airport looked at? Maybe the antenna cable has come loose or something.
