I use my laptop at work, where we have a proxy server. I created a Network Location for work and one for home. Everything at work uses the proxy server and at home the proxy is not set. All my apps work just fine according to the location setting. However, the app SiteSucker keeps making requests to use the work proxy server at home. I know this because I use Little Snitch to track network connections. I have never used Sitesucker at work. I have also deleted its preferences, rebooted my system, etc. It still insists on making a connection to my work proxy server. Now, this setting has to be cached somewhere. I don't know why every other app doesn't use it, but clearly Sitesucker is getting this proxy information from somewhere. Any ideas?

I've noticed that this affects iGetter as well. i have a similar setup as you: locations for both home and school. When I switch from school->home, iGetter remembers the proxy configuration of the school location.

The only workaround I've gotten to "fix" this is to:
1. Open System Preferences
2. Click on Network.
3. Edit the proxy setting of the CURRENT location
4. Click on HTTP/FTP proxy (or whatever is being remembered
5. Specify a new value (e.g. 127.0.0.1 for the local computer)
6. Click on Apply Now.
7. Try the application again (it will fail)
8. Go back to System Preferences > Network > Proxies
9. Remove the new value (127.0.0.1), uncheck the proxy setting
10. Click on apply.

I'm not sure if Steps 7-8 are required, but its always worked for me.

ginoledesma, I wish I could say that worked for me, but it didn't. I also saw BBEdit try to use my works proxy server to do an upgrade check tonight. This proxy information is being cached somewhere and some apps are reading it over the current settings... The mystery continues.

Ok, I'm assuming you did Steps 1-6. After step 6 (and trying to use your program -- e.g. BBEdit), did it fail, or did it remember the previously used proxy?
