I was just curious what everyone used in their home and why?

Do many people get Airport base stations and later downgrade to other brands?

I had the Apple graphite base station that I used with my first iBook G3 300MHz clamshell. After a couple of months using the base station on dia-up back then it broke and I had to have a replacement shipped to me to replace it (good thing it was still under Apple Care).
I then sold both the iBook and base sation to get a PC (had to have Windows 2000/XP and Microsoft Office with Access Database). Then after I graduated I got my current iBook G3 900MHz and knew I had to get wireless because it was so cool when I first had it. I kind of wished I had kept the Airport card and base station to use in my new iBook but I needed the cash. I wanted to get a Apple brand base station but they cost too much so I ended up getting a Netgear MR814v2 802.11b router for $40 (after staples rebates at the time) and I'm happy with my purchase.
