I'm having a problem is seems several people over at the Apple Mac G4 discussion board are..only all of the mentioned fixes haven't worked for me.
I've got a G4/733 with 512 meg running OS9.2.2, hooked into the RCA cable modem supplied by Comcast here in Chicago. I have an SMC switch with distributes the modem to/from the G4, as well as the iMac/233 I'm working on now (OS 10.3), and a venerable PB3400c (OS 8.6). All of a sudden yesterday (5/24), the G4 was unable to access the internet. I've rebooted any number of times, checked TCP/IP (still using the DHCP server), made doubly sure that all cables were securely seated at the modem, switch and computer connection.; rebooted my modem; and finally, switched cables between the G4 and iMac just to make sure it wasn't a bad cable...which it wasn't, and which is also confirmed by the fact that I can still network the G4 with the other two computers...I just can't connect to the derned internet!
Anyone out there have any skinny as to whether this is related to my computer, or to something Comcast might have done?
