I have a Beige G3 and a PB G3. The PB is connected to broadband via wireless card and router, I have an AMD Athlon also with wireless connection to the same router.

I have tried to set up a connection for the Beige via both of these.
First I tried the powerbook. Connected to the Beige via ethernet. No problem mounting drives, no probs running Xgrid, set up internet sharing (and web sharing, etc) and the Beige claims it is connected to the internet.
Safari, iChat and Software Update do nothing though. Safari won't find any web pages, iChat won't connect to AIM, and SU says there's no connection.

Got the same situation when I connected the Beige to the Athlon and set up connection sharing with the control panel in XP Pro.

I've tried dynamic and static IPs, and firewalls are off on all three machines.

Why won't the Beige connect to the net.

I tried 'connect to server' over the net (when the Beige claimed it was recieving a net connection from the Athlon), using http:// and the IP address, but after a while of trying, both machines got a type 36 error, and failed to connect.

The plan is to enable the Beige to get a (sortof) wireless connection to the powerbook.

Whats going on here? Any ideas?
