I just got a 6500 with os9.1 installed and i figured i wanted to get it onto my network.
So i got myself a Farallon PCI network card and plugged it in.
First of all finding a driver wasnt easy, but after a while i found a driver for the 996 model, and i think i have a 896.
Installed it and sure enough the network card _kinda_ appeared in sysinfo.
There is a "ethernet pci" card and it has a hardware adress.
So i figured it worked, the LNK lights on the card goes on when i plug a cable in.
So i set all the TCP/IP settings just the way i want them ( i have 4 other computers on the network including an amiga, so i know how TCP/IP settings work ).
But no luck.
I run the farallon config util and it says "link active" and ive tried all 10/100 full/half duplex settings.
No luck.
Ive tried reaching servers outside the network ( through the router that all the computers go through ) and ive tried reaching a webserver internally that works from other computers.
Ive also tried two cables in two plugs in the switch, one of wich im 100% works ( actually the first one i tried worked in another computer afterwards so im 100% sure that it worked too ).

What am i missing ? =P
Is there some Mac specific thing im completely missing ?
Ive turned off appletalk, if it might disturb.
I know that interenet has been used previously on this machine through the internal modem.
Could it be that the traffic routes through the modem somehow ?
In TCP/IP settings i chose "ethernet" ... could that be the internal network i hear about, accessible from the printer port ?
If so, how do i get it to use the PCI card ?

Im completely stumped here, other than reinstalling os9 i dont have a clue what to do.

Thanks for any help.
