Does anybody else thing the prongs on the Airport Express module should extend from the broad side? It seems like it would lower the profile for plugging into wall outlets behind furniture (i.e. a stereo/printer stand). I still ordered one, but this seems like an oversight. Does anybody know why? I've considered the possibility that the reception would improve in the current configuration but it doesn't seem like that should matter.

It's the same exact plugs they've been using for quite some time on all their laptops and iPods. This really shouldn't come as a surprise.

It looks like they are reusing the power brick design for the laptops. Plus the prong plug is swappable with a longer extension or international adapters. It would be akward for the swappable piece to be on the broad flat side, since they have so elegantly engineered the little corner swapping thingy.

But it would make sense to make it flatter for wall use. I would say they should have hinged the prongs so that they lock into place when the unit hangs via gravity. It looks to me like the prongs would want to rotate with the weight of the unit.

A more cubic design would be more balenced, but this "deck of cards" shape is more conducive to putting into a laptop bag next to the power adapter.

Who would do that ?
Having ANYTHING plugged in directly at a wall outlet !

Do you have hundreds of wall outlets available ?
I don't. So I use power strips, and for those, the current design is much better.
