First of all, thanks to all of you that have contributed comments and advice about networking in this forum. I just finished setting up a network with a G4 (primary computer), daughters iMac 600 G3, and Wintel machine downstairs. I found a great guy at CompUsa (go figure eh) who was actually the Belkin Rep, that must have talked to me for an hour about networking pro's and con's. I bought the 802.11g wireless router and wireless PCI card for the PC. $80 after rebates! The G4 hooked right up and was connected in a few minutes, the iMac was hooked up via ethernet cable to the router, but it took a bit to get the PC connected to the network. Had to get into the IP configuration (Win 98SE) and reset it. Their tech support was top notch. Quick and patient since I am not a primary PC user. (work only). Stayed on the phone till everything was up and running. Now I am overjoyed that all my computers are in use. Now to figure out about this "sharing" thing, and setting up security on the router.
