I just purchased an Airport Exteme and i am trying to get an answer about wall mounting.

Has anyone that has done both connections seen a difference in coverage? I am guessing that the antenna in teh unit is an omnidirectioal one and usually changing the orientation of the unit will affect it but I want to see if anyone knows how much.

I did a search here and through the support docs at Apple and coudln't find anything at all.

I have mine wall mounted at the moment. The change in signal wasn't much, but it was enough to allow my roommate's pc, on the other end of the apartment, to link up to the net at a slightly higher bitrate.

Hmmm, interesting. I owuld have figured that would have dropped the signal not boosted it. Actually, without opening up the unit, I almost would guess that it's a Omni antenna but the way it's setup is wall mounting will help it while killing the signal behind it. I can live with that. Thanks for the info.
