Telus my ADSL provider (and no there are no alternitives) has now blocked port 25 for outgoing and restricted people to @telus.net e-mail addresses only.

This makes it impossible for me to do business the 4 months a year I am on Saltpsring (every 4th weeK+Christmas and 3 weeks in the summer).

Telus said to send e-mail with a from my domain address I need to pony up $800/year extra above what my mom pays now, for a static IP connection just to use a none @telus.net e-mail address.

Since at home I already moved to Server 2.5 since they blocked HTTP, I was thinking the cheapest (and most inconvenient way to do it) is to setup a VPN so I can send e-mail from my domain e-mail when I am away from home.

Does 10.2 client have VPN server binary already? My mom and my desktops (MDD G4's) are both running Panther, just my Beige G3 (server) is running 10.2. Any other suggestions other then trying to get authentication to work on my friends ISP's e-mail server? (port 587 is not blocked FOR NOW)

Thanks all

If you have access to the other mail server you could simply tell it to also listen on another port (such as 80 - www), in addition to port 25. Then you would just have to tell mail.app to use that port.

This is an ISP's mail server so it's not that easy.

Anyways I solved the problem for now...
