Here is what I have, please correct if needed.

Computer 1
System prefs->sharing->Personal File Sharing On
Put file(s) into Finder->HomeDirectory->Public to share

Computer 2
System prefs->sharing->personal file sharing on (is this necessary?)
Search for him via Finder->Network->Browse for the name of his/her computer

Click on it->Go->Connect to Server
then server is 192.168.0.101 and press OK.
then drag and drop files as needed.

sounds like there is something wrong with this.

Maybe you could try this? Using Rendezvous in iChat, start a chat session with the other computer. Drag the file you want to share into the text line and hit enter. This will send a message to the other computer to start a download by clicking the link. You can only do this a file, or folder at a time, but if you only have a few things to transfer, it's the easiest way to go, IMHO. If both machines are equipped with Airport Extreme, and you have an 802.11g base station, it should be pretty speedy.
20" iMac G5 2GB RAM, 933Mhz 14" iBook G4 640MB RAM.
