I've done some searching, and see no easy way to tell who is or had accessed my wireless network.

For example, I was in an apartment once in Europe and found a wireless network in the building. I tried to get on, but of course, it was password protected (WEP ?).

Is there any way for me to tell if my neighbors are attempting to sign in on my WEP encrypted network? Can you tell if they successfully guess your password and log in?

Most wireless routers have a log file you can look at.

Turn on WEP or WPA. WPA is more secure, but you can't run it with Apple's WDS network feature.

Now if I could figure out where the log files are, then I'd check to see who's trying to get on. How are the log files written when no computers are turned on and just the Airport Base Station is active?

Are there log files in the airport express and if so, how can I check?
