I recently (last weekend) finally upgraded my iMac G3 to OSX 10.2.8. (Sorry, I never did buy Jag, and now I might as well wait for Tiger).
Anyway: Whenever the iMac boots or wakes from sleep it looses it's airport connection to the wireless router. I have to click the little airport icon on the bar and choose the network to re-establish the connection.
How can I get this to automatically connect upon boot-up or wake-up?

Go into "Network" setting in the System Preferences. Select the Airport to change Airport settings and under the main tab where it says "by default join:" followed by a drop down list. Select automatic. After that you should connect atuomatically after awakening from sleep.

Thanks for the response.
I don't have a "default join" option in the dialog that you mention. I have a "join a specific" network, but that's already configured.
Is this option in a different place in 10.2.8 ?

Sorry toi take so long to get back. Hmmm, not too sure about that. I cannot remember if it was different in Jag or not. I thought they were the same. Once you had an airport network configured it give you the option of joining that specific network or the automatic one. Maybe that automatic option isn't listed until you have also joined a second wireless network. You would need automatic then so you don't have to manually join it once you had passwrods and such in there.
I have noticed that I do have this problem myself on a frequent bases at my work. They are using netgear equipment and theonly way to solve it is going to the tcp/ip setting and refrshing the ip address.

Thanks for the response ..
I'll see if I can get the user of this machine to "tough it out" until Tiger comes along so I won't have to buy an interim upgrade for just a few months.
Thanks again.
