I have a network of 6 macs and we just bought a PC for compatibility testing. We want it to connect to our TCP network, but don't want it to connect to the internet at all. I am at sea here. Any suggestions?
Some routers have the ability to prevent certain IP addresses from reaching the internet. The popular LinkSys BEFSR41 is an example. If your router has that feature, set the PC to a fixed IP address and block that address at the router.
Just give the machine a static IP. EX: 192.168.1.2. All you have to do is don't add a gateway, and it will never be able to exit your network. I say assign a static IP because otherwise it will grab all the correct information via DHCP.
