This is about APX, but not about the networking and not about the USB printer sharing, so I thought a new thread would be in order.

My network: Ethernet Hub with cable modem, 2 computers, 1 Minolta laser printer and the APX Basestation. I use the basestation to connect my iBook to my local network.

Now when I try to add the minolta network printer (not connected to the basestation, but via ethernet to the hub), I don't find it under "AppleTalk". Shouldn't it show up, just like the iBook was connected directly to the network? (Mounting the other computers on my desktop works perfectly, so the network is OK).

(Ah yes: my iBook is routed through the Basestation with and 10.0.1.x IP address - could that have something to do with it?)

I am grateful for any help you can give me. Thanx!

When you say ethernet hub, do you really mean router? Or do you have two static IPs?
If you have the APX serving IPs, then you will not be able to connect to the printer, since you'd be on a different subnet. But even if you disable this (which you PROBABLY should), you may still have problems. Very few routers out there bridge AppleTalk from wireless to wired. Once you get the APX set up correctly, try Renezvous instead of AppleTalk as the connection method. If that fails, you can always add the printer by IP Printing. Of course, you'll need the printer's IP first.

I'm guessing this thread will get the lock, as it really is an APX networking related thread. Actually you have two or three problems... Router vs. hub, APX config and printer connection.
