Hi, I was wondering if the following is possible...

I have a desktop PC, running XP Pro SP2 (egh!) connected to the internet via a cable modem plugged into the ethernet port. This PC also has a Belkin wireless networking PCI card (802.11g) installed.

I also have a Powerbook G3 (Pismo) which I would like to use to access the internet wirelessly via its Airport card.

Is it possible to share the connection that the PC has (ethernet) with the Powerbook wirelessly? Or do I need to buy a separate wireless router?

(I was sure I read somewhere that you could do this with a desktop Mac, I think it was called Software Base Station or something)

I think that all makes sense?! Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Mark

Okay, after some fiddling i've managed to answer my own post!

I set up a Computer to Computer Network on the Powerbook, connected to that from the PC, and then bridged the PC's ethernet connection with it's wireless one.

(I'd also like to point out that I only have this damn PC because I need to do some CAD work on it this year at university....although Doom 3 is kinda fun!)

Thanks!

Turns out it's only "kinda" working, I'm only getting network speeds of 1Mbps, shouldn't this be getting on for 11Mbps?

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Mark
