Hello-

I have a troubled PowerMac (dual gig, not MDD), that has ethernet problems. Running X.3.5 with 1.5 GB SDRAM. Last week, it just started acting up. Dropped off the network, and wouldn't connect at anything higher than 10 Mbps. Using DHCP from a Netopia Cayman 3500

I have :

switched ethernet ports (both on the gigabit switches, and in the wall)
switched ethernet switches (Asante GX5-2400 & D-Link 10/100)
tried 100 base T (fulll & half duplex)

At gigabit, the ethernet switch does not show a link light
At 100 BaseT, the ethernet switch shows a link light, I can get the authentication dialog box for our fileserver, and get to the sharepoint selection dialog box, but then I get a timeout. Also, the DHCP switches to a self-assigned number (169.........)

Any ideas?

many thanks in advance

paul
