So I just got this new Linksys router (WRT54G) and have it all set up. The internet works fine for the most part however...

MSN will NOT connect (in OS X or in XP under Virtual PC) it just says there's a problem with my sign in info, and I know they are correct I've tried a million times.

I cannot connect to hotmail.com, msn.com, aim.com, webmail.mac.com they just time out.

My Mail.app is incredibly slow (it's a 2MB/s DSL connection the ISP is Bell). And it won't even get my mail.

Is there anything I can do?? I'd be very grateful this is driving my crazy.

Well it apparently has something to do with the router's firmware. I just switched the new router with my other one which has an older firmware version on it and everything works fine and dandy.

That seems to be about it

There is a wealth of information about Linksys equipment available on Broadband Reports.com's Linksys Forum. Not only has someone else run into the problem you're having, but a lot of people have worked out solultions to just about all of the problems you're likely to come across.

In this case, there was either a problem with MSN caused by a new "feature" Linksys added, or a port setting was changed from a default that worked with MSN to one that didn't. If you're happy with the firmware you're using now, great. If you've lost some functionality, check out the Linksys Forum to see what you can do to get it back.

I have tried Dlink and Netgear on my friends house (both are type G) and they both working fine on my PB (signal is always full), and I know that they are much cheaper than Linksys.
