I want to be able to see ALL files on my iMac from my G5 and vise versa. So far, all I can see is the dropbox and I cant see whats inside of IT. i want to be able to put files on my iMacs desktop from my G5. When i open the name of the G5 and try to open the desktop, it saus I dont have access privelidges. Someone help me here before I go crazy!

First, I suggest you do some reading on te background of user privileges.

Once you understand the idea of it, you can change the privileges either in the Terminal or use a software like

The reason you only see drop boxes is that you are probably trying to connect to the other machine using the username from your current machine. You must log in to the host machine as the user on the host machine before you'll be able to see all the files. Capiche ? If you're on your G5 with a user name "John" and your iMac has a user name "Joe", you need to log in to the iMac from the G5 as "Joe" --- NOT AS "John" (which is what it will default to). I have two macs networked like you seem to want .. and can drop files directly onto the desktop of the other, print docs created on one to the printer of the other etc. Also, when you connect, you can go into the "Options" and set your machine to remember that username and pass. Once you've connected and the network volume mounts, just make an alias of it -- then you can double click that alias and it will instantly connect.
