Yes, you can print to it. You'll need to turn on file & print sharing on the XP machine, then actually "share" the printer in XP.

On the Mac, open up Printer Setup Utility and click Add a printer. A dialog box will open up. In the top dropdown box select Windows printing. In the second dropdown box select the Windows network containing the printer and it should then show up as a printer in the list.

Click it, then click Add. That's it.

when I do it, it only seems to find my computer in the workgroup, I enabled windows sharing on the mac, and on the PC enabled file and printer sharing and restarted, I then went to printer utility clicked windows printing, and workgroup cause that is what I named the PC network the default name, what am I missing?

When you say you "enabled printer sharing" on the PC, do you mean that you explicitly shared it, or that you simply set up sharing? If you did not explicitly share the printer, it won't show up, since the PC won't even admit it exists.

Click on Printers and Faxes, right click on the printer, select the "share this printer" radio button, and give the printer a name. Then it's a good idea to restart the PC-they say it isn't necessary, but it usually helps.

I've been running and managing XP computers since shortly after XP came out, and it is MUCH better than previous versions of Windows...but it still needs a little application of boot leather now and then, especially when you change network and sharing settings.

A followup question for me. I've got the same situation, with an Epson Stylus Photo 850. I loaded the drivers. My Ibook sees the printer wirelessly, but It won't let me configure the printer the same as if I connect the Ibook directly to the USB on the Printer. When I'm wireless I can't select Higher quality Photo paper settings that I can if I connect directly to the printer.
