Hello
Following problem occurs:
iMac's G3 with mac OS X 10.3.8 in a network
It's the intention to use 1 iMac as a fileserver. On that iMac is a map (in the map "PUBLIC") with all AppleWorks files. These files must be accesible for all users on that network. So far, so good! All users can login on that iMac and acces the files. The users may alter these files and save them on the original iMac as the original file. The user privilges of that map are all "READ & WRITE".
The problem:
Everytime a new AppleWorks file is made in that map, the user priviliges are "READ" even though the Map has the priviliges set to "Read & Write". When a user wants to acces such a new file, it always opens a copy but they want to open the original to alter it and save it.
Whenever a new file is made in that map, I have to copy the user priviliges to all the submaps and this takes a lot of time.
On Mac OS 9.2.2 there were no problems, all users could access these files, alter and save to the original file.
Is there a solution for this problem?
thx
