Hello,

Was not sure where to post this question... anyway the power adapter of my Cisco Aironet wireless base station died and I want to replace it with a generic one.

I cut the cable to use it with another generic power adapter, but I don't know which cable is used for + and which one is used for - . Basically I have 2 cables inside, one in the middle (inside white plastic) and one on the exterior. Which one is usually used for + ? is it the one in the middle, or the one around it on the exterior? Hope this is clear. Thanks for any help...

Let's talk safety for a minute. If you don't know how to tell which conductor is which-and don't really seem to grasp the terminology, so that you have to describe what seems to be a coaxial cable instead of naming it-then you should leave this alone! A mistake could get you shocked very badly, or cause a very, very bad fire.

Contact Cisco and find out what they want for a new power adapter. Safe, guaranteed to work, and probably warranteed.

Just take your old power adapter to Radio Shack and let them show you what you need.
