Hello!
My neighbor has a T1 line connected to a wireless router (not sure on model)
that he said I could leech off of if I help him with some things. I have a
Linksys WRT54G wireless router, and was wondering if this will work to
connect, rather than trying to find and buy an original airport card for my
G4. If this is possible, how would I go about finding and connecting to
his wireless connection on my mac? I hope this isn't a ridiculous question,
but Linksys customer support doesn't support OSX.
Thank you!
Chuck

Short answer: no.

Longer answer: Probably not, you would have to be very lucky and just happen to have a model of router that happens to support WDS that happens to be compatible with your neighbors router. The chances of this are remote as WDS is not a standard (it is a marketing name only) and thus things are more miss than hit.

You could buy a wireless bridge, but those usually cost more than the Airport cards.
