There is someone in my office that is sharing their iTunes music. Is there anyway to track this person down...or at least identify which computer it's coming from? The only thing I have to go on is the shared name they use in iTunes.
Port for iTunes Music sharing is 3689. When using Network Utility, you could try a port scan with that port number filled in, then use a range of IP numbers.
Not really handy, but can be done I think.
start playing one of their shared songs on your computer.
open activity monitor
select itunes and click on 'inspect'
click on the third tab called open files
scroll to the bottom
there you will find their IP address
if they are listening to one of your songs it will also show you their IP address as well as what song they are listening to.
