hi i justed purchased a new 15 inch pb w/ superdrive. I am using a wireless linksys router to connect to the internet. I have disable all encryption and reset router to default. my powerbook says it is connect to the router. i can see my windows network and can transfer files between the two. i am not using dhcp i manually configured the tcpip settings, gateway, and dns servers. my problem is that i try to do anything on the internet it doesnt work. from surfing the web, ichat, and wow. if i plug in a wired ethernet cable with the same settings it works fine. i want wireless and it isnt working. someone please help me.

update: tried pining inside the network worked fine. tried pinging ibm.com ip address. did not work no response. tried disabling firewall on router. still did not work. please help. thanks in advance.

update: upgraded router firmware to the latest. still no luck.

It sounds a lot like the DNS and gateway settings in your AirPort configuration are incorrect. DNS and gateway don't affect LAN traffic, only Internet traffic. Everything else seems to be spot on. To test, I'd change things so that the AirPort card uses DHCP. If that works, it's obviously a settings problem, and most likely the DNS and/or gateway addresses.
