do we need a server forum as we have an iPod?

Anyway, we are using a dedicated server at server4you.com but we just had a problem with our HD, so we are now looking into RAID solutions. Anyone is renting a server? what is your experience, how much do you pay, etc... ?

We had a Server forum, but it was not regularly attended, so it sometimes took a long time to get answers. Now, OS X Server questions belong in the Mac OS forum.

Your questions, however, are kind of broad and general. I don't have an answer for you myself, as I tend my own servers.

Does the ISP provide any RAID solutions?

We are thinking about this solution too but a 2MB up/down cost ± USD 350 / month.
We do hosting as a "service" so this is way too expensive for us now. we should multiply by 10 the people we host so the custommer service and we do not have time ($) for this.

Odd situation.

As Detrius has stated, this thread really fits better in the MacOS forum, so I'm moving it there.

Cool, now I will mention a raid server with iPods connected to an iBook.

1. I know you had, I used it before and I was looking for it.
2. I never mentioned OS X Server ...
3. "kind of" ? I thought the message was OK excuse my (native) French!

My question is:
Does anyone rent a dedicated server?
1. Tho which company
2. What is your experience?
3. What is your set-up and how much do you pay for it?

The Mac OS forum is for discussing Mac OS and Mac OS X Server. It is not for discussing applications, hardware, ISPs, etc.

I've moved this back to networking, since the Internet is the Mother Of All Networks.

Indeed, this is not a question about Mac OS X Server in any way, shape or form.

Honestly, I probably would have posted this in the Lounge, or in Web Developer, but Networking is more appropriate than Mac OS.

Uhh, I don't live on the forums. I do occasionally take breaks to eat, sleep and, um, fill in the blank.

Sorry guys. I don't know from hosting services, and I honestly thought the original post was about buying or leasing servers for in-house use. Mea culpa.

It is cool!

I was looking for a leasing with a RAID1 and I found this:
http://rackhost.dk/business.asp
Not bad I think!

Let me know of course if you have a better price/solution!
