Can anyone help? Right now I've got my network set up with my DSL feeding directly into my Asante router which then feeds my G5, my PC and my AirPort Extreme base station. About thirty feeet away I've got my AirPort Express extending my network into my house (the main set up is in a detatched office).
This set up works fine except for the fact that the G5 and the Powerbook can't see each other on the network making filesharing and Apple Remote Desktop nearly impossible.
What I want to do is feed the DSL directly into the AirPort Extreme, let it do the addressing with DHCP/NAT and then run a feed out from the base station to a router/switch to service the G5 and PC which are not wireless. This, I've been told, would solve the problem between the g5 and the Powerbook. It would look like this:
I've attempted this a number of times with no luck. I've tried disabling DHCP on the Asante router and various other techniques. But I can't make it work. In this configuration the G5 and the PC don't receive the DSL signal. I don't know if it's my router or the AirPort base station or what.
Anyone else try something like this? Tips? Suggestions????? Thanks!
