Hi there.
I'm currently visiting my parents, and my dad has (to my surprise) installed a wireless network. He's got a 3com 802.11g wireless router connected to a Thomson SpeedTouch ADSL modem, and this work just great - for him.
My dad can do like 1100kbit/s on his HP Pavilion Notebook, while I on my 15" PB 1,5Ghz only get speeds around 50kbit/s - MAX!
Has anyone experienced something similar?

Is it possible his computer is showing connection speeds in bits and yours in Bytes?
Run the speed test at http://www.dslreports.com on both computers for a fair comparison.

Yes, we have been running the same tests, but the problem doesn't lie in the test results. The problem is that I actually get a slow connection.
Pages that appear instantly on his computer takes forever to load on mine etc.

I am not sure I understand whay you are saying. When you run the download tests at DSL Reports, do both computers get the same result? Is it only in loading pages that the Mac is slower?
Also, what version of OS X are you running?

What I'm saying is that I get lousy speeds on my fathers wireless network, while he gets good speeds. When we run DSL tests, he gets good results and I get bad ones.
He has a PC, and I have a Mac.
Is there a chance of a compability issue maybe? I though Airport-cards supported all 802.11g-Gateways..?

Try setting the MTU to 1492 instead of 1500 in the Mac network prefs and see if that makes a difference.

Isn't MTU a setting that only affects my Ethernet-card?
