I just joined sbc, and Im thinking of picking up the 2wire router/modem network package they have. Anyone here use this router/modem? Any feedback? How good is it?Any range issues?Problems? and how does it compare to an wireless B or G router from Netgear or Linksys? Is the 2wire good for Macs? Thanks a lot.

I have SBC Pro DSL, but not the 2wire thing you're talking about. They sent me a free modem and I just used my own Linksys Router.

Are you using static or dynamic IP? I'm thinking about moving to static but don't want to pay a tech $250 to setup some router when all I want to do is plug the Uplink into a switch.

Here's a link to BroadbandReports.com's 2Wire support forum. You'll probably find out more than you ever wanted to know about 2Wire equipment in this forum.

As a longtime SBC DSL user, I can tell you that your home network hardware choice is totally your own. They don't care-except that they make money off of the 2Wire equipment they sell.
