I just wanted to check out if anybody out there has experince of using the product afore mentioned and would be willing to share his/hers experince. I bought this thing, it works but I suspect it to cause freezes and kernel panics. iMac 350Mhz G3. Panther 10.3.8. This is maybe due to bad installation or other conflicts associated with OS9 which is also installed.

Nothing is mentioned on the producers website.

Thanks in advance,
Have a nice day!

if you think it causes kernel panics, remove it and run your mac for a while to see if kernel panics go away.
to your first question - no, I haven't used the product.

Also, did you check the D-Link site for any updated drivers. If you're getting kernel panics due to the USB device, then its likely the drivers causing the problem. Make sure you are using the latest drivers.

Well thank you very much guys for your input. I connected the mac with ethernet cable and found of course out that the drivers for the device are the culprit. A simple google search brought me to: http://www.macupdate.com/reviews.php?id=15997. There I found new independent driver which works perfectly. It even seems to work for various similar devices.

Hope this helps someone if he/she gets stuck like me.

do you get good connection between your mac & router/other computer(?)/'net? i've been thinking about getting something like this for my emac, but wanted to know how it worked for others before taking the plunge.
some people are like slinkys: they don't do much, but are fun to push down stairs.
