My iBook no longer auto-joins my home network. It used to join on wake-up flawlessly, but suddendly stopped after I upgraded to 10.3.9 (from 10.3.8). I haven't touched my wireless router in months, so I'm pretty sure it's not that. It joins just fine by selecting the network from the menubar menu.
Has anyone else seen this behavior, or does anyone have another place to look?

Some OS upgrades reset certain network configuration settings. It may help to go back and manually re-select "a specific network" under "by default join," then select/enter the correct network name (and password).

Count me in. Mine doesnt work either - but I don't know if it worked at 10.3.8. I just got a new AlBook and I can't remember it working at all, whereas on my TiBook, it was flawless.. I just tried Glenn's suggestions and went a step further and made a whole new location, and it still doesnt work. Hmm.

Yeah, I had to manually rejoin my home network upon arriving home from work, the other day. Always nice to know other people are sharing a problem, but it's annoying when Apple give us these things to bear.

Rats! I'm sorry that trick didn't help. Somebody posted about a similar problem a couple of months ago, and there was a fix-I just can't remember it right now-and I have to get going this morning, or I'd search for it right now.

And now it does work. Go Figure. Didn't do anything different. Maybe it just took some repetition of me always choosing the network for my PB to figure it out

As long as it works, mere mortals such as us should not question too closely such miracles.

That didn't work, but something else did. I set it to 'Automatic' instead, and now it joins every time. If I change it back to 'join a specific network', it fails again.
Strange.
