My friend and I both have powermacs with built in airport cards. Is there any way we can share files with one another? We tried today and looked in the help files but couldn't find the tick box that said "allow my computer to host a connection" (or similar) and in the menu list on the top bar which appears when I clicked on the airport status icon, the "computer to computer network" option was grayed out.

Thanks for your help!

Go to preferences and make sure file sharing is on. Go to your Airport icon and click create network. You won't have Internet access this way but you'll have a connection.
If you have bluetooth, you can also connect that way.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

we managed to connect with bluetooth and I would have to say it was quite fast. Both our laptops were bought within the last month so we have the faster version of bluetooth.

Thanks for the help. Will try again soon and let you know how we get on.
