My Airport Express, roughly six months old, just started having audio problems. Namely, the volume coming out it is way down. I have iTunes and the speakers turned up to full volume, which before today would have been blowing me away, and it's almost whisper quiet.

I know the problem is with the APE for a few reasons. Music streamed from any of 3 computers, 1 PB running tiger, 1 PM running panther, and one dell on XP, all have the same issue. The APE hooked up to either a stereo or JBL creatures show the same problem. Hooking up the creatures directly to my powerbook works fine.

Has anyone had this issue or do you have any thoughts? I've reset the APE and loaded the latest firmware (problem started before FW update).

Any help greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but I have no idea. But here's a free bump to see if someone can help.

somethings got to be wrong with the AP express. It could be the plug or most likely the fine PCB wires inside the AP. give it back to the store the waranty is 1 year anyway isn't it?

this is my guess. I've had mine for over 6 months and it still works fine

Have you tried connecting the Airport Express to a different input on your stereo?
