Well, just what the header says.

My Mini, connected into my network by ethernet, keeps dropping off the network, and then pops back on.

This hasn't affected me directly, but when I walk away, AIM disconnects. p2p programs won't stay connected, etc.

I know this is a little thin on the information, but I don't know what else to say. This happens with both Panther and Tiger.

I'm not really hoping for a solution here (though I wouldn't turn one down), but some advice on how to troubleshoot this "could be anything" kind of problem. Is there a log I should check?

Thanks!

How is the Mini connected to the Internet? Cable or DSL? What's the rest of your network like?

DSL.

The Mini goes to a switch, and then to my router (Linksys BEFSX41), and then to the DSL modem.

My laptop doesn't drop off the network, and I have an AirPort base station plugged into the same switch. It did just occur to me though, I have a different base station that goes directly into the router, so maybe I haven't isolated where the problem is coming from quite as well as I thought.

I have however, tried using a different switch. Same Problem.

The console log doesn't seem to indicate anything is going on.

As for what else is on the network, A G4 Powermac, Epson print server, Farallon AppleTalk print server, and the aforementioned Airport base station and Mac Mini, they're all going into the same switch.

The aforementioned "other" base station is plugged directly into the router. There's a third base station being used as a wireless bridge.

Thanks so much!
