Hello everyone,

Let me explain my home network setup first...

I have a linksys Wireless Router, attached to it I have:

1. cable modem - WAN connection.
2. Voice Over-IP Phone Adapter from Linksys.
3. A Dell Latitude laptop w/ Windows XP using CAT5 connection.
4. BRAND NEW *** 200GB NAS drive from Tritton Technologies*** using CAT5 Connection.
5. PowerBook 15" running MAC OS X 10.3.9 wirelessly connected to the router.
6. My Airport Express

Now, the issue is that I am able to connect to my share (NAS drive) and I'm able to see the folders I created (Music, Appz, Data, Pictures, etc). When I start copying anything to my shared folders, it will start copying fine and then I get an error message saying the following:

" The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "" could not be read or writte. (Error code -36). "

One thing I noticed is that my XP machine doesn't have this problem. I thought for a second that maybe it had to do with my wireless connection, but I also used the Cat5 connection and received the same error message.

Can anyone please help me with this issue? PLEASE...I will appreciate it.

Thanks,

skorpion

According to Slashdot, this is a problem in Tiger. It looks like a Samba issue in your case too. However, can you get it to work when you connect through a cable? That might show which direction to go.

Otherwise, I have no clue what's going on with your network. I'll bet someone else here does, though...

This is a known bug, but I thought it had been fixed in Panther already. You can get around it, though:

See, for eample:

What format is your disk?

I've seen the -36 error when trying to log in to a Windows box. The solution was to delete the affected windows accounts from the Keychain. You can also try to use "Sharepoints" to set up shares to see if this helps. Current version is 3.5.2 from Macupdate.
