I have a home-built pc (boo!) running Windows 2000 that I'm want to use purely for games/things that require windows. I can't use a KVM switch because I have an iMac G5, so I was wondering if I could control the PC with VNC software and use gamepads that I have connected to the iMac to control games on the PC.

Anyone with VNC experience would be helpfull!

I would think VNC would be either too slow or not support D3D/OpenGL output. I doubt the gamepad would work unless you just want it to work as a mouse. VNC and RDC don't transmit anything but mouse/keyboard strokes.

Right, VNC does not support high frame rates or 3D rendering.

And VNC does not pass through any ports -- it just passes keystrokes and mouse location (which it gets from the OS, not the keyboard or mouse).

Note that you may want to consider doing Windows XP Pro and RDC -- it's faster than VNC.
