Hey, i need to connect to my pc (win xp-sp2) to my ibook (10.3.9)

I think an usb cable would be a good solution, instead of ethernet, the reason to avoid the use of ethernet is very simple, ibooks have only one ethernet slot, i don“t want to disconect the ethernet cable from internet every time i need to get or put some file in my pc.

I have just tested a USB File Transfer Cable but unfortunatelly only works with Classic and i need to open an app in the pc for file transfering.

An USB Network Cable could be a solution, anyone has tested a network connection with one of those cables?

My only needs to connect to a PC is for using it as a storage device, so i need an easy solution to use it even without pluging a monitor in the pc box.

Thanks

USB networking runs a VERY distant second or third to ethernet. Not only are neither Mac OS nor WinXP built for USB networking to be very easy, but USB itself is not very well built for networking at all.

Spend $30-#50 and buy a cable/DSL router. Connect the WAN side of the router to your Internet connection. Plug an ethernet cable from your Mac into the router. Plug another ethernet cable into your PC. If you already have file sharing enabled on both computers, you're pretty much done, and you won't have to play musical cables again.
