I"ve bought a Canon PIXMA ip4000R printer which has a wireless LAN built into it as well as a wired LAN. Although I can set up the printer with a USB connection, I'm having difficulty connecting wirelessly to it, both with my mac and my PC. So, it looks to me like a networking problem.

My setup is: PC - wired to ADSL wireless modem/router. Powerbook - wireless to router. With this, I can file share, printer share and connect to the internet with both computers. However, I cannot get the printer set up program to connect with the printer. I've tried wire connecting the printer to the ADSL router/modem but the setup program still doesn't want to connect to the printer.

All I want to do is to print wirelessly with the powerbook to the Canon.

Thanks for any help

that was very helpful, thanks. I looked at the pictures and read the information. It seems I need a wireless printer access point to connect the printer wirelessly to my router/modem. However, the pictures in the link also said that I could use the printer wired to my modem/router, which I did.

So now it works as a networked printer, and I can print wirelessly from my laptop. Thanks again.

I don't know why it didn't work yesterday.... oh well.......
