Hi everyone!

I have been thinking about purchasing a network drive to connect to my AirPort router to store my music, files etc on and connect it wirelessly to my PB. I have seen the Western Digital NetCenter drive which looks cool. I have currently a 7200rpm drive hooked up with USB to my Tiger/PB/1.25GhZ/512RAM computer.

My question is if networking a drive like the NetCenter is practicle and how much slower it is than a USB/FW connection. I store all my various iTunes libraries on the external HD so I would like to be able to play music wirelessly. Would I be able to watch movies wirelessly as well? Also, I would really like to get rid of as many cords as poss.

Grateful for any suggestions/comments.

You can stream audio and video across Cat 5 and Wi-Fi. AIFF is only about 1.5 Mbps and DVD is about 6 Mbps.

D-link sells a Wi-Fi router that you can plug USB hard drives into. You might want to look into that option as well.
