Hi,
I am on Tiger at work and recently the IT department did a "critical update". any way i am the only Mac in the entire company and as such have no IT support other than "we know nothing about macs".

So i lost my connection to the internet, at which time i was in OS9. I called and they told me i will have to change the format of my username for the http webproxy from just 'username' to 'domain\username' which works fine in OS9, but when i use Tiger this does not work when i configure the HTTP proxy in the Network section of system preferences?

But this is where it gets strange? if i use Camino and enter my username in either the old format or the new format when prompted it works?

Do you have any ideas i can try? Im happy to use camino for the web but i really would like software update and dashboard and all the other things which run through the network configuration to work!

Thanks for any help
Alex
