My sister had been using a Laserwriter 300 printer on her original iMac running OS 8.6. I just set her up with my old B&W (upgraded to G4) running Tiger, not realizing that the LW300 will not work with OS X. Is it possible to network the two computers together in some way so that she can work on the G4 but still print to the Laserwriter? If I run an ethernet cable from the G4 to the iMac could she print directly from the work she is doing on the G4? Or could she move files from the G4 to the iMac and then print to the LW300? I'm assuming it's possible to network between two Macs that are running OS 10.4 and OS 8.6 repectively.

I know absolutely nothing about networking. Are there any good online tutorials on the subject?

Thanks

I don't think this this can be done. These are QuickDraw printers with no localtalk support and I don't think they can be networked.
